Mount Emei is considered one of the Four Sacred Buddhist Mountains of China. It is regarded as the bodhimanda, or place of enlightenment, of the bodhisattva Samantabhadra. When you get to the top, you get to see these architectural wonders, as well as a spectacular panoramic view of the mountains. It is said that the sunrise is one of the best spectacles on top of Mount Emei. The sunrise begins with the ground and sky starts in a similar shade of dark purple, then rosy clouds start to appear, afterwards, a bright purple arc appears and then the sun slowly begins to show. You can also sea the great phenomena called the Clouds Sea on top of Mount Emei where there are two layers of clouds–the regular clouds below, and another in the sky above.
